Bali: Foreign Grocery Friday: The Cheese Tim Tams of Indonesia

When we travel, one of our favorite things to do is to pop into a local grocery store and check out the food products and candies we'd never find anywhere else. So we're trying out this new feature, Foreign Grocery Friday, where each week we'll feature some of our (and your) favorite overseas treats. Got a recommendation? You may remember when we told you about Tim Tams, the favorite Australian cookie. Sweet layers of chocolate cookie, with a creamy chocolate center all covered in what else but chocolate. Along with most Australians and visitors, Tim Tams are something of an addiction for us. That's why we were not only excited to find a new flavor, but super intrigued by the unique taste. Cheese!?

We always had the idea that Tim Tams were for an after-dinner treat or something a bit more sinful when we are feeling naughty. While shopping at a grocery store in Seminyak, Bali, this unique flavor offering threw us off and we just had to get them for a little nibble.

Miami: The Perfect Day in Miami: Tips from The Webster's Laure Heriard Dubreuil

When she's not at South Beach's style central, The Webster, the boutique's owner and co-founder Laure Heriard Dubreuil is busy soaking up the best her adopted hometown has to offer.

With her new The Webster at Target Collection hitting stores this Sunday, we can now look (almost) as chic as Laure, but how do we get a taste of her fabulous, sun-drenched life? We asked the design guru what she recommends to any visitors hitting up South Beach for a warm-weather weekend.

I love starting my day by riding my beach cruiser along the beach and getting a Cuban coffee at David's Cafe on my way to the South of 5th Street beach—also called 'Brazilian Beach'—for a swim. Beach cruisers are just the ideal way to go from one place to the next in South Beach and you can easily rent them everywhere at street stations like in Paris.

Aberdeen: Wish You Were Here: A Boat in Aberdeen Harbour

Just a moment. We don't mean we're on a boat in Aberdeen, Scotland. Nope—this boat and the quiet harbour and the 84-degree nighttime temperature are found in the Aberdeen Harbour of Hong Kong Island.

If you're familiar with Hong Kong at all, you'll know Aberdeen as the home of the floating "Jumbo" restaurant. If you're not familiar with Hong Kong, well...add it to the top of your to-do list.

So how did we end up on a boat in Aberdeen Harbour? Well, as the cost of living in the downtown parts of Hong Kong continues to shoot skyward, more enterprising folk are turning to the many harbours for residences, buying or renting vessels as homes. We've ditched hotel rooms to instead spend several nights on one such boat, and it's a pretty big boat—not the one pictured above.

United Airlines in 1962: Frequent Flyers in the Space Race

Look what we found! Why, it's a June 1962 edition of United's old in-flight magazine, Mainliner. This week, we'll be flipping through the pages and learning a thing or two about the United of the dawn of the jet age.

Just as in any modern in-flight magazine, ads make up a good percentage of the content in this 1962 edition. This one, from National Car Rental is the most compelling, as it both features the early airline business traveler and looks as though it could've been made by Mad Men's Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

The happy customer featured is Paul Stancik, Purchasing Agent for Motorola's Military Electronics Division. The caption notes that he flies an average of 100,000 miles every year—a number today's frequent flyers would laugh at, but meant serious commitment to jet travel way back then.
